SailPro Pulse How To Use

Introduction

Welcome to SailPro Pulse, a cutting-edge weather and race planning tool designed for sailors. This manual provides a concise guide to help you get started and use the app effectively.

Key Features

  • Weather Display: View current weather conditions, including wind speed, direction, and tide data, updated based on your location.

  • Map Navigation: Use the interactive map to set your race course location.

  • Tide Data Button: Located in the weather section, tap to toggle tide information and graph display.

  • Tactical Forecast: Access a 5-hour forecast by toggling the Tactical Forecast button, aiding race planning.

Using the App

  1. Set Location: The app uses your device’s GPS. Tap the map to manually select the centre of your race location if needed.

  2. Adjust Forecast: Use the day and hour sliders to preview weather for different times. Changes update the conditions output automatically.

  3. Tide Data: Press the 'TIDE DATA' button to view tide details for that day. Toggle off to hide.

  4. Tactical Race Planning

    1. SailPro Pulse can generate a racing-focused weather forecast for a predetermined period, such as the expected duration of your race, for up to 12 hours.

The Tactical Forecast is based on:

      • The current time selected using the time slider

      • The number of forecast hours chosen by the user

How to generate a Tactical Forecast:

      1. Use the time sliders to set the desired starting time

      2. Select the number of forecast hours required

      3. Tap the TACTICAL FORECAST button

SailPro Pulse will then display a forecast of the expected wind and sea conditions for the selected period.

To remove the forecast overlay, toggle Tactical Forecast off to clear the display.

  5. Re-enter Map: Use the floating action button (top right) to return to your current location.

Troubleshooting

  • No Data: Ensure location services are enabled and check your internet connection.

  • Button Unresponsive: Restart the app or device if buttons like 'TIDE DATA' don’t respond.

  • Map Issues: Zoom in/out to refresh the map view if it fails to load.

Safety Tips

  • Keep the device secure (e.g., waterproof case) during sailing.

  • Avoid over-reliance; cross-check weather with other sources.

  • Regularly update the app for the latest features and fixes.
