StartSync is an evolution of SailPro's original TTD V1 tool, designed to help you get the best start possible. It allows you to:
Mark (‘ping’) the start line by setting both ends.
Define the correct side of the start line that your boat must remain on prior to the race committee’s start signal.
Set a Bow Offset, which allows you to ping the line from your actual position on the boat (e.g., helm), while accurately calculating the line based on the bow’s location.
Set a countdown timer to align with the race committee’s start sequence.
Calculate distance and time to the start line using your boat’s speed, heading, and GPS location.
Receive audible feedback on whether you're early or late to the start line as the countdown runs.
Go to SailPro Settings and find the 'Bow Offset' option.
Enter the distance (in meters) between your device’s location and the bow of your boat.
This ensures that when you ping the start line from where you're sitting or steering, SailPro accurately calculates the line based on your bow’s position.
Sail to the race committee boat, align your current position (or your device’s position) with the official start reference point—typically the flagpole—and tap the Start Boat icon.
Sail to the pin end of the line (a buoy or flagged mark), align your current position with the reference point, and tap the Pin icon.
Sail to any position on the pre-start side of the start line and tap the Tick icon to confirm the side of the line your boat must remain on before the race begins.
Set the appropriate start sequence duration (e.g., 05:00 minutes).
When the race committee signals the start, tap Start.
StartSync will now actively calculate your distance and time to the line, and provide audible early/late feedback to help you execute the perfect start.
GPS Lag on Map Display
The map interface may show a slight delay between your actual position and your boat’s displayed position on the screen.
Note: StartSync runs core calculations approximately every second, even if the map updates more slowly.
