How to Keep SailPro Running in the Background on iPhone (iOS)

Why this matters:
SailPro relies on real-time GPS and audio features, even when your screen is off or you're using other apps. If iOS background restrictions kick in, you might notice:

  • ⏱️ Countdown Timer stops working

  • 🗣️ Audible Boat Speed isn’t heard

  • 📍 Race Tracking stops mid-race

  • 🧭 Other features that rely on GPS or background audio don’t work properly

Here’s how to make sure SailPro stays active during your races:

📱 Step-by-Step: Enable Background Access for SailPro

✅ 1. Allow Location Access

  1. Open your Settings app

  2. Scroll down and tap SailPro

  3. Tap Location

  4. Choose Always

    • This allows SailPro to track your race even when the screen is off or you're using other apps

✅ 2. Enable Background App Refresh

  1. Open Settings

  2. Tap General

  3. Tap Background App Refresh

  4. Make sure it’s ON (Wi-Fi & Mobile Data)

  5. Scroll to SailPro and make sure the toggle is enabled

✅ 3. Turn Off Low Power Mode (During Races)

  1. Open Settings

  2. Tap Battery

  3. Make sure Low Power Mode is off

Low Power Mode limits background activity and can pause GPS tracking and audio features.
